Molybdohypophosphates

Sodium molybdohypophosphate, Na₂[P(Mo₂O₇)₃]8H₂O, is formed as a yellow crystalline precipitate when a solution of sodium hypophosphate, Na₂PO₃.5H₂O, saturated at boiling temperature with molybdic anhydride, is cooled. It is sparingly soluble in water, the solution giving yellow amorphous precipitates with the chlorides of potassium, ammonium, and guanidinium.
