Molybdohypophosphates

Sodium molybdohypophosphate, Na2[P(Mo2O7)3]8H2O, is formed as a yellow crystalline precipitate when a solution of sodium hypophosphate, Na2PO3.5H2O, saturated at boiling temperature with molybdic anhydride, is cooled. It is sparingly soluble in water, the solution giving yellow amorphous precipitates with the chlorides of potassium, ammonium, and guanidinium.
